what goes around

i am in no way ashamed of my love for justin timberlake's "what goes around comes around", it's a fantastic song - great layers, vocals, the crescendo is incredible.  so when i came across the song mashed with finley quaye & william orbit's "dice" (another favorite) i obviously took a listen.  the songs' similar chord progressions blend seamlessly thanks to mrgann's smooth stylings.  if you haven't heard of him be educated; he's a promising 21-yr old musician from hungary.

so check out his song below and download

somebody to love

Tonight I listened to Jefferson Airplane for the first time in a while and was excited to realize that they were clearly influential to Florence + The Machine.  And how can I do a "Somebody to Love" post without including some Queen?

so here's the original

Jefferson Airplane - Somebody to Love (DJ Dain's "Grace With Attitude" Mix) by DJ Dain

some queen

12 - Deepfield - Somebody To Love (Queen) by restinpeace

this version of queen's "somebody to love" is a total guilty pleasure of mine.  it's from the cheeseball movie Ella Enchanted but Anne Hathaway really does the song justice.  I was surprised to learn she had such a set of pipes.  It's a really successful arrangement of a classic.  enjoy the lovely photo montage, my favorites are the ultra 90's looks.  there's also a nip slip for you pervs out there

black&gold

Just heard a great Ellie Goulding dubstep track in which she covers Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold" the result is pure success.

The Cover:
Black & Gold (Slick Werk Dubstep Remix) - Ellie Goulding

The Original:
Black & Gold - Sam Sparro

Wale's Take:
The Black & Gold ft. Sam Sparro - Wale

one of my favorite artists covering one of the greatest oldschool techno "songs"  Ellie Goulding's voice lends itself perfectly to the smooth melody of Black and Gold.

and here's a bonus ellie goulding remix because i feel like it
Under the Sheets (KIDS AT THE BAR remix) - Ellie Goulding

the last of 2010

Here's an assortment of songs I hadn't had a chance to put up til now.  Happy New Year!

I came across this remix a couple of weeks ago of Seal's Amazing.  The original is excellent, and the remix is a bit of a more laidback version.

Amaing (Kaskade Remix) - Seal

Some Weezy for you

6 Foot 7 ft. Corey Gunz - Lil Wayne

here's a laidback luke mix of Ain't That Enough.  Just the right amount of the cheesy 80's vocals guetta so loves

Ain't That Enough (Laidback Luke Bootleg) - David Guetta

another animal remix

Animal Hands (Waka Flocka vs Deadmau5) - DJ Fergie Ferg

I'm super picky when it comes to remixes of groups like MGMT and Passion Pit, this one makes the cut.

Electric Feel (Prince Language) - MGMT

I'm usually not one for soul remixes, but this one is hard to stop listening to

Let's Get It On (PURPL PoP REMIX) - Marvin Gaye

This song reminds me of some good old fashioned 90's techno, take a listen and bring it back
Whole (Original Mix) - Benjamin Bates
